Best Celebrty Lips (both natural and not)...

I seem to be starting off on a rather lip-obsessed note here, lol!

Best celebrity lips-both natural and not.

The obvious choice-Angelina Jolie. Actress, humanitarian, and owner of some amazing lips...after seeing her childhood pics, I'd surmise that they are mostly natural, too! Though in Hollywood, I wouldn't think it inconcievable that she gets injections to maintain their fullness (just speculation!)

Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Victoria's Secret Model and Megan Fox Transformers Replacement.

Joanna Krupa-Bikini Model.

Sophie Monk...I'm honestly not all together sure what she does, save dating a Madden brother? Still like her lips though, even a lot of people say they aren't natural.

The Future of Lip Implants-VeraFil/FulFil and Permalip.

I remember hearing about lip implants and having to repress a shudder of horror, for images of stiff and swollen 'trout pouts' which run through my brain. Now, apparently, the tide has changed.

In the last few years, they've introduced two new and revolutionary types of lip implants: VeraFil (aka 'FulFil') and Permalip.

Permalip was developed by SurgiSil and is a solid sillicone implant. It is not hard, but a soft, gummy like texture, which is smooth as to prevent tissue in-growth. It comes in three sizes and a variety of different lengths and is said to be a very natural looking implant for lip augmentation.

Because it's designed to remain without tissue ingrowth, one of the biggest benefits to this particular implant is how easy it is to remove. Insertion is apparently quite easy, with just two incisions in the lips on the inside of them mouth (no visable scarring) and people who've had these have apparently been able to return back to work in 2 days.

Verafil (Also known as 'FulFil) by Evera Medical is another type of implant-is works similarly to breast implants: it is a GoreTex coated Sillicone balloon which is filled with saline solution once in the lip. This implant also comes in a variety of different sizes/lengths but the most interesting thing about it is that the fullness is entirely customizable. It is inserted pretty much the same way as the Permalip (to my knowledge) but filled once inside the lip. There used to be exterior tabs for the filling, but after consumer complaints, Evera made these tabs less obtrusive.

Both types of implants are permanent yet reversible and cost between $3000 and $4000 for both lips depending on your part of the country.

Though I've seen some gorgeous results with injectable fillers, it isn't the most economic choice for some people, considering they need to be touched up every few months. As with all surgical procedures, there are risks involved, but for me personally, I'm planning on getting the Verafil implants in a few months time.

First Post!

Hi everyone! First post, time to break in the new blog I suppose...;)

Pretty in Plastic is basically a blog devoted to all things related to plastic surgery and physical self improvement, both with and without a Doctor's help! I'm not a licensed practitioner/doctor so I'm not claiming that my word is gospel, but after I decided to undergo some procedures of my own, I started a research tear that was so in depth, I almost thought it a waste to not start a blog. I'm one of those people who researches as deeply as I can before doing anything, let alone something so serious to my face, so I figured I'd start this blog to compile my own findings for the convenience of others!

Thanks for visiting, happy reading!
